Technological revolution, leaded by globalization, has changed the nature of competition in VUCA environment (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous). Digitization is one of the major outcomes of the technological revolution. (Tripathi and Kushwaha, 2017) strongly recommended that organizations to bring forward digitization in the HRM practices, or digital transformation of HR practices has become a significant trend in present. Digital HR is the process that transform traditional HRM practices from paper-based, reactive and time-consuming to digital-first, mobile and optimized through the use of social, mobile, analytics and cloud (SMAC) technologies.

Examples of digitizing HR processes include:

·         Self-service application Process-Completion of job applications by applicants completely online or through mobile app with reduction of physical materials.

·         Digital recruitment- The use of modern technological tools such as LinkedIn and Facebook to attract and hire most qualified talent for a job opening.

·         VR Training -Virtual Reality avoid employee physical participation for training but through text, video & audio materials can be made available with a click of a button.

DHRM has made a considerable impact on every aspect of HRM and following benefits can be delighted through the DHRM.

1.       Higher talent retention.

2.       Lower HR costs.

3.       Automation of manual processes.

4.       Consolidated HR systems.

5.       Advanced analytics and improved reporting.

Digital HRM is not just automation and digitalization of traditional HR management functions, but the redesign of HRM functions with new ideas incorporated digitalization, with a focus on people and work efficiency. Although the Digital Human Resource Management plays an important role in the organization in present turbulent environment with various kind of benefits, complexity and insufficient funding for digital technologies implementation, objective complexity of digitalization of HR management functions and processes due to their multidimensionality, the  participation  of  various  categories  of  staff, under-prepared HR employees to  the practical use  of digital technologies have become serious barriers for the DHRM.

Conclusion

Digital Human Resource Management (DHRM) is digital upgrading of Human Resource management practices through mobile, electronic media, social media through the internet, along with the support of information technology. Digital Human Resource nourishes organizations through the optimization of Social, Mobile, Analytics, and Cloud (SMAC) technology, towards management and responsibility in helping them to ensure that assumptions and expectations within the organization drive the right behavior. Although DHRM struggle with some barriers, without digital transformation, HRM will lag far behind the demands of the organization worldwide.

    1. Yes.According to Murphy (2018), when HR professionals can work from home using digital tools, they have less administrative work to accomplish, which makes them feel less stressed and allows them to focus on being more productive. To put it another way, when HR personnel don't have to deal with low-level administrative activities, they can focus on higher-value strategic jobs.
